Keyboard discussion

Postby RevHortonHeat » Wed Jan 20, 2016 12:48 pm

Hey guys,

I spilled beer on my good ol' Logitech G11 keyboard. I really like this keyboard, unfortunately, 7 keys don't work any more after the beer incident. Now I'm shopping around for a replacement. I'm thinking about going mechanical now. I've looked at brands like, Logitech, Ducky, Das Keyboard, and Corsair.

Logitech G710

Corsair STRAFE RGB

I was even thinking about getting one of those old classic IBM keyboards! Check it out ....

What are you guy's thoughts on this?

I've had the G710 for some time now. Mechanical is the only way to go. It has some good features and a few I haven't used. I need to get out the old manual...hmmm
Highly recommend.

I also have purchased the g910 as my g15 started fizzling out on me couple weeks back.. the keys are just actually amazing and super responsive.. I do not like the idea of losing my lcd at the top of my keyboard which told me my cpu/memory stats and ts widget and so on but they make up for it with the arx dock which is basically a place to put your smartphone and Logitech has an app whether it be iPhone or android to hook into your wifi at your home and display everything that is going on with your computer on your phone in front of you. has a nice color twisting display and tons of different ways to set up your color scheme on the keyboard.. I don't like how it sets on my keyboard tray to my desk as it is quite heavy and I like to grab the keyboard and put it on my lap while I'm playing and have to do some fumbling around with it to get comfortable and it comes with two little retractable stands that raise it up a little but not much.. the wrist rest on it is crap as comes unsnapped all the time.. finally just took it off. nothing to do with the keyboard itself as it is a quality product.. just flimsy rest.. and it comes with two different ones to switch out.. main selling point to it is the romer g switches.. (the keys).. just amazing feel to them.. and of course the rgb aspect.. tons of different color combinations on the keys.. actual leds under each key instead of just being backlit.. it is a gaming keyboard.. little pricey but worth it.. look on youtube on the g910 vs. the razor.... goes over everything about it.. hope that helped.. I just picked the g910 for the color wave.. just looks really cool.. lol.. snake.

I use the G510S and it still has the display like the G15, just the screen stays stationary and also it's cheaper then the 910. lol

I have the G510S as a back up to my Razer BlackWidow. The mechanical keyboards are indeed a must for gaming. 8-)

Currently I am using the G510. When it goes KAPUT, I will definitely buy a mechanical KB of some sort!
